First Night

This post may not express all that is happening right now, but I wanted to say a few words because my incredible sister and brother-in-law have continued updates. I have just now finished reading all that they have read and all of the kind words that you have sent our way. Right now I can't believe that I am home, and I miss Magdalena. Noah and I are blessed to have an amazing doctor to help us through the situation, and upon Magdalena's arrival I was able to touch her. I thought that I loved her when she was inside me, but that does not compare to the love that I have for her now. Even seeing Noah hold her I see the same love expressed, and it makes me teary. Today she had a good day, and we are thankful for the NICU nurses who are so patient and give her extra time to learn daily functions. They put up with me being in there asking a million questions and falling asleep. Please pray for the strength for us to learn how to care for Magdalena with her special needs if she should come home, especially for Noah who went to work again on Monday. Thank you so much for all that you have done to support us and pray for us!

  1. Precious family I pray that you are sleeping soundly and will be well rested for another day with your beautiful baby. I pray that her wonderful nurses are 'mothering' and comforting her while you are unable to be there physically. I pray that the Lord would give you all that peace that truly passes all understanding.

  3. Thank you Jesus for another day! How awesome is your grace! Julie, a baby with needs is such a blessing! It also comes with its struggles, physically and emotionally! But just remember God only gives you the grace for today! So only worry about getting through each day one at a time. You are such an awesome mom already and your love radiates already through your writing. God bless your beautiful and blessed family. Cathy & Annabel

Julie, I've been reading all the posts about your precious Magdalena. I'm so glad she is with you and you get to hold, feed, love and kiss her. She's very beautiful, just like you. I'm praying for you, Noah and Magdalena every day. Candiss and Jordan send their love to you too!The pictures that were taken are just beautiful. I especially liked the one of you holding Magdalena and you wearing a necklace with her name on it. That was so pretty. Love you bunches, Marilyn Meadows

  8. We are praying and loving you through this time. May God keep peace in your hearts and hold your hands on this path He has put you on. May this be used as a witness and testimony to Gods grace and love. He is using you both in a mighty way. There may be days where you may not see it, but know that God is at work through all of this. We love you both and are always praying for your family.

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes

Hello World!!

Here are my first pictures! Julie is on her way to the room and doing great. As we have more pictures, I will get them up for you to see. Stephen
