Noah's Surprise

Look how Noah surprised me!

Her Last Cake

Each member of my family deals with our pain in a different way, and the last few weeks have been difficult as we face reality.  It hits me at the weirdest times that we no longer have Grandmom with us.  We all have a peace because we know that she is with Granddad and Jesus, but we hurt because of the void in our lives.  As I pulled into her driveway today Walt screams "Grandmom! Mommy, Grandmom!", and he couldn't quite understand why he was staying in the car instead of rushing into her arms to get a bowl of her delicious oreo ice-cream.  Grandmom was known for her cooking.  Yummm..... Her fried chicken always hit the spot.  At her funeral people shared their special memories of Grandmom, and we heard so many people talking about her coconut cake.  She must have made them for every function or event because it seemed as though everyone had tried it.  She was known for making one and having it available at all times in the freezer.  We found and enjoyed her last Coconut

Homecoming

Walt's cousin Emma was a flower girl at Homecoming, and so we got to have lots of fun cheering for her!

Happy Halloween!!

One thing that I look forward to twice a year is Gymboree's semi-annual sale.  I stock up on Walt's entire wardrobe with shirts and pants costing four dollars or less a piece.  I bought Walt's Halloween costume for four dollars in July!
