Walt's 1st Birthday!!!

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that my little man is 1 year old!! We had a great celebration where I took A LOT of pictures, and I had the hardest time choosing which ones to show you! Thanks to my handy Cricut machine I made everything for the party including invitations and games! We made it a fun, small, family party.

Pin the nose on Elmo game, which all of the kids LOVED to play!
(eyes and noses made with Cricut. Elmo head cut out, thanks to Aimsey, and mouth drawn on.)

How many of Elmo's favorite fish are in the jar? Coloring Books printed from my computer.

Thanks, Mimi, for the balloons!

I had 2/buy 1 pizza get 1 free coupons from Little Caesars.

Grandmom and Walt. You can't tell buy the following pictures, but Walt was so tired and definitely not his normal, smiley self.

Walt and his Gigi

Walt and Aunt Beuk

Walt and Daddy

Loli, Stephen, Caroline, and Emma gave Walt this super cool chair!!

He is already enjoying it!

Colorbooks were homemade and I bought the colors at Wal-mart for 0.30/box at Walmart at the back to school sale.

Enjoying time with the cousins

Cousins helping Walt to open his presents

All of the cousins join in on the fun of opening presents!

Aimsey and Kiki bought this amazing stool for Walt. It is a puzzle with a really cool engraving.

It is a tradition for Loli to make every child's first birthday cake, and here is Walt's cake! Look how precious his green, block cake is! Loli is the best cake maker!!

He wasn't fussy once he got a taste of that cake!

Grandmom gave me this antique Wilton big bird cake pan. Thanks to Kiki's awesome icing skills, this cake turned out great! I was going to give up!

Old Friends drive into town for the party.

My little man in his new stroller.

We had his party with the family on the weekend before his birthday, so we reused all of the decorations on his actual birthday! All of the neighborhood kids knew that it was Walt's special day!

I took so many pictures!

Our next door neighbor added this adorable picture to our door when we put our decorations outside!

Walt did not feel well on his birthday, so this picture really sums up his big day!

Another birthday cake!

I am a fan of the theme since Elmo is one of Madison's favorite people ever. ;) By the way that Big Bird cake was the exact same cake I had for my 1st birthday!! Gotta love that. He looks like he had a blast at his party...can't believe he is already 1. Happy Birthday Walt!!

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes...
