Prayer

A special Trisomy 18 family needs your prayers! You have traveled this road with me, so you know somewhat what lies ahead, but it is different for every one of these special babies. They are made perfectly different. Layne Grace is expected to come into this world in early October.

If you are willing to pray or a special, encouraging bible verse that you would like to share with Layne's family. Please write it down on a 3x5 (no larger than a 4x6) index card. Share your first name and where you are from, if you want to. I will put all of these cards together for this special family to encourage them that people are praying. If you live outside the US and would like to send a special message, please, email it to me.
Mail Cards to:

Below I am posting the prayer requests that Kristina, Layne's mommy, sent to me.
1. That Layne would continue to gain weight.
2. That she would make it safely through the delivery
3. If it's God will, we would be able to bring her home, even if for a short period
4. For guidance in the decisions that they are having to make concerning delivery and care
5. For peace, strength, courage, and understanding
6. That God will be glorified whatever may happen

  2. I don't always remember to check blogs or just everyday important information. But i always remember to check email.
    With that being said -
Subscribing to "O Love that will not let me go" is wonderful! and definitely recommend to SUBSCRIBE.

It emails you when new post to the site are being made.

Which in turn, allows me to read stories on situations that need a prayer(s). I have said a prayer and will continue to pray for this family.

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes...
