77 Days

Magdalena is still not feeling well. I thought that she was improving, and in some ways she is, but I can still tell that she is not feeling well. She was up practically all of Friday night crying. We have spent the last few days constantly trying to keep her nose clear of all unwanted snot, but it is hard to keep up with it. She sleeps best when she is snuggled with someone, so that is how it is going to be. Noah and I have always agreed to keep her as physically comfortable as our hands allow. She stayed in someone's arms all day today and her crying was minimal because she was so comfortable, and I am staying up the night to be sure that she continues to be that way. For a few minutes she is in her Boppy so I have time to write a little. While trying to stay awake with her I am drinking lots of coffee and water, and I realized a few moments ago that I had to put her down to go to the bathroom. I was scared that she might begin to cry her sweet, sad cry. But she didn't wake up while she stayed in her Boppy swing for a few moments, so now I am just watching her sleep until it is time for us to snuggle again, which I know will be soon. I put her head right below my neck while her little booty is bunched up on one of my arms. As she sleeps she loves for me to pat her back, and I enjoy to rub her head and face.
Oh, time to snuggle again...

  7. I dont really even know what to say....that doesn't happen often. Love that precious girl of yours to bits...she knows she is loved and is lucky to have such a sweet nurturing mommy. Take care of yourself too...eventually a person can't live on coffee alone :) Although its surprising how long a person can go without sleep. I am praying for and loving little Magdalena from far away. And praying that as you comfort and hold little Magdalena that you would picture God doing the exact same for you too.

  8. No sweeter moments than the ones you are speaking of will ever happen again. Something about your first baby (dont get me wrong I love all 3 of mine). Its almost like a special gift that the Lord gives you when you feel like He could not possibly give you any more. Love and cherrish each and every snuggle moment. They are priceless and I believe the closest we will ever get to understanding how much the Lord loves us.

Praying for many loving days with sweet comfort for princess Magadalena.

Love to you sister in HIM,
    Melissa

  13. Just dropping in to see how precious Magdalena is doing (and her mommy!). Continuing to pray for strength, rest and health for both of you.

I agree with one of the other commenters/friends that we would love to see more pictures of your beautiful princess. As if you don't all ready have more than enough to do but we sure do love seeing her.

I agree with Cathy that I could totally picture how you two are cuddling. So precious!!!

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes

Hello World!!

Here are my first pictures! Julie is on her way to the room and doing great. As we have more pictures, I will get them up for you to see. Stephen
