Rumblings in the Tummy

Last Thursday we began to give Magdalena a different formula, which gave her the same nutrition but was a different brand name. This did not go over well with her little tummy, and since then has been making her not feel well. And yesterday I decided to switch back because she was obviously upset. She has cried until she can cry no more (her little cries are so sad sounding), so now it is just a matter of waiting until the old formula clears out of her system. Yesterday Noah and I missed her because she had to sleep a little more than usual, and her little personality was just not as upbeat as it has been.

We always enjoy it when Magdalena gets to experience "normal baby" things, but knowing that her life may be shorter than some we don't want her to live uncomfortably for even a moment.

  2. prayers for that lil tummy - when r took formula it could only be the 100% ready to feed: no water, no shaking, no powder and bless his heart he still projectile spit up so much and lived on mylacon drops and caraway seed: guess that is the main reason I kept on nursing for so long: I couldn't afford 10bucks a bottle that only lasted 24 hours - but I digress - back to the: so sorry she's got a tummy ache we definitely want her to feel better soon.

  3. I don't blame you for not wanting her to hurt. I don't want that either! Yay mom for making the best call you could on what to feed her...

  5. I am hoping and praying that the old formula will clear out and she will be more comfortable with the old. With Annabel, and others who are surviving, lots do have tummy troubles. We say an alien lives in Annabels tummy. Praying for her and peaceful days.

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes

Hello World!!

Here are my first pictures! Julie is on her way to the room and doing great. As we have more pictures, I will get them up for you to see. Stephen
