Both Noah and I agreed that we wanted to share some of our favorite video moments with our sweet Magdalena over the next two days. This isn't so that you will cry more than what words will cause, but so that we can really praise God through his beautiful handiwork that we see in every moment of her life. We were told all that Magdalena would not be able to do, but through her short life we saw how God truly can work the impossible. He gave us so many moments of her little abilities. Magdalena's pediatrician, Dr. B, always encouraged Magdalena to the next step within our comfort zone and cheered her on the entire time. Dr. B showed us ways to work on her neck strength at about four months old, and we enjoyed showing off her moves the next visit. In the following two videos we see Magdalena's neck getting stronger. Mimi tried working with her too, but who wants to work when Mimi is around? That is the time to relax!
If you Google Trisomy 18 or Edward's Syndrome it will give you a long list of what the baby can't do, but God has created each of us individually perfect in His image, and only He truly knows what we can and cannot do.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes
