This year we decided not to put up a Christmas tree. Instead we decorated our mantel and put a few decorations around the house. We are going to enjoy a relaxing holiday with candles and small lights so that we aren't stressing over putting up and taking down decorations. I am so excited about the time that our family (Noah, Magdalena, and I) will have together. It began today! I cooked a new, Mexican recipe to celebrate Noah taking his last exam! While Noah spends some quality father/daughter time I thought that I would catch everyone up with some sweet pictures.
Here are the ornaments that Magdalena made at Emma's school. The front has their hand and foot prints, and the back they uniquely wrote her name. Kermit was my stocking holder as a child.
Magdalena's Stocking will be filled by Santa soon because she is always such a sweet girl.

Magdalena went to her first birthday party! Caroline, Magdalena's cousin, was so sweet to let Magdalena borrow her doll's smocked birthday dress. Every child brought a book, and they all exchanged them so that everyone went home with a new book.

She has gotten to moving in certain positions when she sleeps. I had to share this adorable picture of her napping. If you look back to earlier posts you will see that this outfit was long sleeve on her at one time.

I just wanted to let you know that I have been around from the beginning of Magdalena's life and I have had a silent prayer that she would live a long life (not a t18 long) a full and long life. I will continue to pray she is developing so perfectly and so beautiful!!! Enjoy the simplicity and the truth of this time of year. I bet it will bless you more than any other.

ReplyDeleteGreat idea for the birthday party. Might have to use that one.
Thank you so much for sharing these precious pics of her. I also loved the one of her looking up at her Mommy. I can tell that she adores you! I also loved the handprint and footprint ornaments. What a wonderful thing to do! One thing I have seen was the childs handprint cut out of felt with the date of the child and hang this on the tree.
ReplyDeleteLove you,

Oh Julie, you warmed my heart so this morning with her pictures. Her face is beautiful! I am praying that her health continue to be stable. Do you mind if I ask where you got the stocking? I am embarrassed to say that I never made one for Annabel as I had made for all my other 5 children. It takes much time and I didn't want to waste or stresss making one. I love Magdalena's it is beautiful and so her.
ReplyDeleteHey Julie! I loved the picture with Magdalena and her book and the one of her sleeping. TOO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the very prompt reply. I was hoping they had a website but doesn't look like it. Magdalena is always dressed so sweet. By the way, I think you are great at the blog thing and your writing and your pictures are always so sweet. Inspiration to all is how I sum it up.
How precious!
ReplyDeleteI love to pop on and be gifted by pictures of Magdalena. She is changing and getting a new "big" girl look. That tiny newborn look is gone. She seems to be very intrested in the things around her. The book idea is adorable, something for everyone. We have always found special stockings or I have made them for the kids.
She is in our prayers everyday for countless days with her Mommy and Daddy. Let her continue to be a light for the world around her.
Magdalena is getting bigger everyday. She is so sweet. I love the picture of her looking up at her Mama. You can see how much she loves you! Thank you for sharing your family photos with us all. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe's getting some chubby cheeks - so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how much she has grown - so happy you are spending the Christmas season with your very special gift!
ReplyDeleteYou and your daughter are in my thoughts daily. I have a pop tab collection cup at my desk at work. I dont' drink pop but all my co-workers know to drop them there. I think of your daughter every time someone drops one in. She's got the cutest little cheeks in the photo where she is sleeping. She's adorable!!! Thanks for sharing your story.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog, although I have heard Magdalena's name mentioned before on other mommys' blogs. My sweet son had Trisomy 18, too. I only had a short time with him, but what a blessing he was. Your daughter is beautiful and I can tell you are just soaking up every single moment.
ReplyDeleteIs that a Velveteen Rabbit stocking for Magdalena? What a sweet story for the rabbit and what a sweet story for Magdalena, you, and Noah. I am so happy that y'all are able to celebrate this holiday season with such a perfect gift from above.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Noah on his last exam and kudos to his sweet wife for making a special dinner for him.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful pictures and yes, the one with Magadalena looking up at you Julie is so very precious! She is growing bigger and more beautiful every day if that is possible!
