Santa Time

Psalms 30:11-12
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

We saw Santa today, and Walt was such a sweet little boy. I wanted to share his pictures with you. Also, I realized that I never shared last year's picture when Magdalena went to see Santa. I wish the place where we took this picture had remained in business because we had such a great experience there, but I am thankful that we did have the opportunity to meet them, even if it was only for that one day.

  5. such beautiful babies!! Magdalena Grace's name was so perfect for her...I love when you put pics from her up because it's so nice to look at them again and see her sweet face and adorable facial expressions.

    Walt is just getting so big! For some reason, he looks a little bigger in the pic with Santa than he did from the Thanksgiving pics.

    Hope you're having a nice week!

    OH! Beautiful Pictures. Magdalena's little feet picture still remains on my fireplace and will forever. People ask me about them all the time. I just say it is a story of love and a lesson on how precious life is. She will always remain my teacher.

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes...
