Name Announcement

Well, Noah and I had ideas about what we wanted to name baby boy, but we both agreed that it must mean something. For this reason, he will be called Walter (Walt) Douglas Roberts. Walter after baby boy's Great-Granddad, who passed away in January, and his Papa (Grandfather); and Douglas puts his amazing daddy (who was named after his own beloved grandfather) in there too! Three of the most amazing men in my life!
I know that many of you may be wondering where the silent "g" is in the name. Well, you can put it right before the "t" in Walter! Just kidding!

  1. Love the name. Must be the time for baby boys, I just found out yesterday that we are having a boy too. Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to run into you at the dr. office. Seems like we are right together in our pregnancies. Best of luck, we are keeping baby "Walgt" in our prayers.

  3. Thanks for sharing! We are in the midst of the baby naming war at our house! I wonder how long ours will go without.

I'm 19 weeks with our third child (after a string of four straight miscarriages) and have just received the phonecall that the baby has abnormalities that require a level 2 ultrasound. I'd appreciate your prayers.

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes...
