Good News

I know that it has been a while since I have posted, and I am sorry for that, but we have been having such a good weekend. My friend, Kim, came to visit and we were so glad to have spent this time with her! Before work this morning, I took her to the airport for her to be able to return home to her husband who I am sure missed her terribly. My day has continued with going to see the doctor. I know that I am nervous about our new baby, but I don't think that I constantly worry about it. Sometimes it seems just to catch up with me and can be overwhelming. Today I was so nervous about hearing bad news from the doctor, my stomach was in knots and then, as we waited for him to come to our room, I just cried. The baby did have a good heartbeat. I was just so full of so many different emotions. I wanted to go right then to see the high risk doctor to see if everything was ok, but we have to wait. It is better to wait at least until the 17th week for the doctor to be sure he catches any abnormalities. But we did get to see a little picture of our baby, and it is obviously a boy! Noah almost began to dance around the room! I would love to have another little girl one day, but we are thankful that this experience will have many new aspects to it. The only problem is that we don't have the perfect name picked out, yet! We have many ideas but we just haven't found the right one for this special boy. Dr. C said everything looks good so far. Baby Boy Roberts is in the 36 percentile which means that he is a good size. This does comfort us a little until we are able to see the high risk doctor. We had no idea that we were going to find out what we were having today, so there has been great excitement in the family!

  10. Congratulations on a boy!! I am also pregnant with a boy (my first boy also). Can't wait to hear your name choices. I think boy names are so much harder. They are either super traditional or way out there.

  16. yeah!! How so very exciting for you, Noah and Magdalena. Surely her little brother is a piece of heaven, wrapped up and cradled by his big sister while he continues to grow in utero. I wish for you and Noah all the happiness and excitement that comes with preparing for his arrival.

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes

Hello World!!

Here are my first pictures! Julie is on her way to the room and doing great. As we have more pictures, I will get them up for you to see. Stephen
