Our Christmas Card

Being our first Christmas without Magdalena, it didn't seem right last year to send out a Christmas card without her. We couldn't make any decisions without thinking it didn't "fit", so in the end we decided that it was o.k. to just not send one out. This year I was determined to begin the tradition all over again, and so, here it is. This was our Christmas card this year. Please forgive the mistake that I made with the quotation marks! I forgot them on the ends! And it is from "The Roberts Family" because Magdalena continues to be in our hearts and is fresh on our minds this time of year. Jeremiah 29:11 has been on my heart as I was thinking of what would be on our Christmas card, and it is our hope that it reminds you of God's many promises.

This time of the year is bittersweet for so many of us, but it is such a special time to celebrate our God who sent his only son to this sinful world. That is the most precious gift ever! In the midst of the traffic, lines, and baking, I pray that we will all continue to remember what we are truly celebrating. Jesus. What a sweet name. Merry CHRISTmas!

  4. I put your card on the fridge next to my pictures of Magdalena, one of which is your old Christmas card with her on Santa's lap. I like looking at all of you at the same time and can see why you felt conflicted last year. I love the card and didn't notice the quotation mistake! Love to all of you...

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes

Hello World!!

Here are my first pictures! Julie is on her way to the room and doing great. As we have more pictures, I will get them up for you to see. Stephen
