Remembering Her

Four years ago today, we didn't know that it would be Magdalena's last hours on earth.  We knew that she was sick, and we were taking shifts staying awake with her.  I went to bed early planning to wake up at midnight, and then, Noah would sleep.  As I fell asleep weeping I prayed out to God for more time, and even as I prayed I knew that He was saying "I have not left nor forsaken you" (Hebrews 13:5). The entire night before I kept second guessing our decision. Not because my mom is incapable of caring for Magdalena, far from it, but that I just didn'
