Pink

In honor or a sweet girly girl please wear something pink to Magdalena's Celebration of Life on Thursday. No worries if you don't have something pink! But wear colors to celebrate all that she has done while she was here with us and all the love that she allowed us to give her. She was an amazing miracle!

  13. I just finished reading this beautifuil blog. What a blessing this little girl has been in their life, as all trisomy 18 babies are. They come with such a gentle spirit. I am so glad that they were able to spend so much time with her. I had a trisomy 18 baby 3 years ago, she lived 16 hours, and felt very blessed to share that amount of time. This sweet little girl reminded me so much of her. My thoughts and prayers will be with Magdalena's family, and my heart goes out to them. Much love

  20. Pink in our house tomorrow!!!

Here are the words to a song I appreciated after my miscarriage. It has been on my heart this morning as I have been praying for you. It's by Wayne Watson, called Home Free.

I'm trying hard not to think you unkind
    But Heavenly Father
    If you know my heart
Surely you can read my mind
Good people underneath a sea of grief
Some get up and walk away
    Some will find ultimate relief

    Chorus
    Home Free, eventually
At the ultimate healing we will be home free
Home free, oh I've got a feeling
    At the ultimate healing
    We will be home free

Out in the corridors we pray for life
A mother for her baby, A husband for his wife
    Sometimes the good die young
    It's sad but true
And while we pray for one more heartbeat
The real comfort is with you

You know pain has little mercy
And suffering's no respecter of age, of race or position
I know every prayer gets answered
But the hardest one to pray is slow to come
Oh Lord, not mine, but Thy will be done

    Let it be...

    Chorus
    Home free, eventually
At the ultimate healing we will be home free
Home free, oh Ive got a feeling
    At the ultimate healing
    We will be home free

    Home free, eventually
At the ultimate healing gonna be home free
Home free, oh its more than a feeling
    At the ultimate healing
    Gonna be home free

    Hugs!

I didn't get the pleasure of meeting Magdalena here on earth. However, I have been following this blog since she was born. I have told countless people about the miracle work of our father that allowed her to come home from the hospital and live here on earth and get to know her parents.

I have cried so many tears for you, Julie, since I found out yesterday. I can't imagine the greif you are going through! I just want to let you know that I am praying for you and for your family, that Jesus will give you a peace that passes ALL understanding. I am praying that sweet King Jesus will wrap you in his arms and cover you with a blanket of his grace! I belive he gives a special comfot to mothers who have lost children on this earth. He still allows us to greive (and even be angry), but we still have this overwhelming peace! I pray that peace for you. Peace that only comes from him. Please know these are not empty words that "people say in these situations" I will truly be lifting you up before Heeaven! There are times when God sends others to pray for us becasue the weight of the burden is so heavy we can't seem to pray for ourselves. I am praying for you!! You just rest in the arms of Jesus, he loves you so much!!!

Magdalena Grace Roberts

This morning Magdalena left this world to be with Jesus. There really isn't too much else I can say but to please pray for Julie and Noah. For now, they do not want any calls, emails or visits. I will you keep you updated on the arrangements.

Making the Decision to Not Make the Decision

I get the question, "Are you going to have any more kids?" asked often. Since finding out Magdalena's diagnosis it was always a tough question to answer. We had always envisioned ourselves with multiple children, but there was always the lingering thought of having to endure this difficult situation again. Although it is less than a one percent chance that we would have another child with T18, the percentage still exists. When pregnant, I said multiple times that I couldn't do this again and my mom constantly reminded me that it is not always that difficult. Being pregnant was physically uncomfortable, but I was referring to the constant emotional exhaustion. As Magdalena continued to do well, Noah and I weren't sure when to begin thinking about other children. Noah and I discussed that I would work really hard at losing my weight, but I was willing to be five pounds more than what I was originally. People poked fun at my not eating Magdalena's birthday cakes
